The ERiS2-M/G monitor is a versatile instrument for radiation detection and measuring, thanks to its features, its variety of detectors and accessories.
In orther to adapt to any application, there is a complete set of radioactive contamination probes (Alpha, Beta, Gamma) and radiation (Beta, Gamma, X-rays) with
different types of detectors (Geiger-Müller, proportional, scintillation), and different measurement ranges and energy ranges.
The ERiS2 is fully compatible with the probes used by the MS6020 multisonde monitor. The exchange of probes is very simple .
When switched on, the ERiS2-M recognizes the probe and automatically applies its parameters, calibration factors, alarm thresholds, etc.).
Any change of the parameters is stored in the probe itself so it can be used with any other ERiS2-M/G monitor. Contamination probes have a
library of 7 totally free isotopes in which the user can configure all parameters.
A complex calculation system performs all the necessary operations, applying the corresponding factors and parameters, for the conversion of the detected events
to the scientific unit (cps, Bq, Bq/cm², µSv/h, µSv) that the user selects. In addition, it applies the dead time correction
characteristic of some detectors, as well as the background subtraction for the activity units (Bq and Bq/cm²).
The ERiS2 continuously checks the alarm levels, the battery level, the status of the probe, etc., and it immediately reports any incident or anomaly.
The ERiS2 allows different types of measurement depending on the application. The rate mode has a dynamic time constant, that is,
the counting time is fixed as long as the deviation does not exceed 3 times the standard deviation of the mean, in which case, an automatic update of the
measurement will occur. This means that the measurements are stable but that, in case of a significant change in radiation level, the response of the meter is very fast.
With contamination probes and for measurements with a fixed and prolonged time (smear measurements, calibrations, etc.), the equipment has the
counter mode in which the user can set the counting time.
Another interesting function is the search mode, which shows a graph indicating the pulses detected with a small time constant of 5 seconds, so that it allows
to see the detected events in an intuitive way while performing, for example, the scan of a surface.
The ERiS2 can save the measurements . The records include the date, time, measurements, unit, etc.
It can save manually, or automatically with configurable sampling times. The ERiS2-G model, with built-in GPS, also allows recording the measurements
together with the geographical coordinates. With a simple software the user can download data and storage them on a PC.
There is also a wide variety of optional accessories that allow the ERiS2 to adapt to different applications.
